Roma Downey, Mark Burnett 'Incredibly Grateful' Their Son Is Now Back Home After Being Hospitalized
Roma Downey and Mark Burnett's 20-year-old son, Cameron, is now getting better following a hospitalization four years after a serious brain surgery.
Loved Ones Ask For Prayers
Cameron, who is Burnett's son from a previous marriage to Dianne J. Burnett, was hospitalized the past week. It was revealed after the family posted on social media, asking for prayers for the speedy recovery of the young man.
Downey posted on Instagram, requesting for people to pray for "someone I love who is ill tonight." As her followers express their well-wishes, she quickly followed it up with a post thanking them.
"Please keep those prayers coming today so we can get him safely home from hospital and restored to perfect health," she continues.
Cameron's mother, Dianne, also took to Instagram to ask for prayers for her son. Later, she added a photo on Instagram Stories that showed Cameron, Mark, and their other son, James, at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Cameron was seen in the image with a tube on his arm and wearing a hospital gown.
Thankfully, the Burnetts' son seems to have pulled through his hospitalization.
"Our family is so thankful for all the prayers over the last few days," a spokesperson for the Burnett family says in an official statement to People. "We are relieved to have Cameron back home with us and we are so incredibly grateful for the amazing care he received at UCLA."
Downey also posted a thanksgiving photo on Instagram with the caption expressing her gratitude for her followers' prayers.
"We are joyfully saying prayers of thanksgiving," she wrote, implying a positive result to her stepson's recent health scare.
Cameron Burnett's Health Issues
Cameron had to undergo brain tumor surgery back in 2014 when he was just 16 years old. The operation led to complications, which close family friend Pastor Rick Warren revealed in a tweet when he asked his followers for prayers to help his friend get better.
Despite his occasional health woes, Cameron is an accomplished young player in the entertainment industry - even outside his famous father, a celebrated producer and president of MGM Television and Digital Group.
A film enthusiast, Cameron attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts, then went on to direct the short film The Bench. The film was officially selected in over 35 film festivals and won awards at eight of those. His sophomore effort, Alibi, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner.
