'Drop Dead Diva' Season 5 Spoilers: Justin Deeley Reveals He's Single During Fan Q&A [EXCLUSIVE]
Flaunting his chiseled abs, Justin Deeley made quite a first impression as Drop Dead Diva returned for its fifth season on Sunday.
Starring as Jane Bingham's (Brooke Elliott) new guardian angel, Deeley plays Paul, who is sent down to help out Jane but finds himself quickly distracted by his toned physique.
The former 90210 star, who is currently filming the latest season in Atlanta, Ga., spoke with EnStars about joining the series, what he's looking for in a partner, and how he stays in shape.
Were you nervous about watching the first episode?
Yeah, it was nerve-wrecking but was nice to get it out there. The support has been wonderful from all the fans.
What can fans expect from Paul this season?
As you can tell, Paul is the the honeymoon phase and trying to enjoy life. Eventually, he'll settle down and watch out for Jane. He'll still be very childlike but focusing his energy more on Jane. Paul really looks up to Jane. They are like a brother and sister. He admires her, so in the first half of this season, he's trying to learn from her.
Will there be any romance for Paul?
Not yet. I don't really see that happening.
What episode are you most excited for fans to see this season?
In episode four, there is this hilarious scene we filmed. I don't even know if they'll use it, but Jane literally runs me over. It was so funny. It was great.
Now let's get started with the fan Q&A.
Oh no. Should I be scared? [laughs]
What's your exercise routine?
I enjoy running, so I'll get up and run five miles. I also love yoga. The most important thing about working out is to find something that you love doing -- otherwise, you'll be miserable.
If you came back like Jane in Drop Dead Diva, whose body would you want to be stuck in?
Garth Brooks. He is my all time favorite performer. I saw him Las Vegas, and he's amazing! If I could come back with his talents, that'd be awesome.
Are you a big Garth Brooks fan?
Oh yeah! When I was six, my mom would put in Garth Brooks live concerts on VHS, and I would just watch it for hours. I've been a fan of his for as long as I can remember.
Are you dating anyone?
No. I'm single.
What are you looking for in a significant other?
That most important thing is that she be very passionate about something in life. It doesn't matter what it is, but she is so passionate that you become intoxicated in wanting to know more. People who are passionate about things are so easy to talk to, and the conversations are very engaging and intellectual. So when I find a girl who is very passionate about something, I love being around them.
What's your reality TV guilty pleasure?
I closest I've ever come to watching reality TV is Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I love that. I would stream that on Netflix and have marathons.
On that note, what is your favorite food?
BBQ Ribs.
Last question. Would you ever audition for 50 Shades of Grey?
Heck yeah! I'd absolutely love to be a part of that film. He's naked a lot, right? I'd be okay with that.
Drop Dead Diva airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
