John Krasinski Shares The Secret To Working With Wife Emily Blunt On 'A Quiet Place': 'She's The Boss'
What's the key to being able to work with your spouse on a movie set? John Krasinski has given the answer!
The actor and director recently dished on the secret to working with his wife, Emily Blunt, on the terrifying new thriller, A Quiet Place, which Krasinski also co-wrote and co-produced. The actors share the big screen for the first time as they portray husband and wife Lee and Evelyn Abott who, along with their children Reagan and Lucas, live in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound. The film also stars Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.
Krasinski shared at the premiere of his new film that collaborating with Blunt wasn't a challenge as they handled their issues before they got on set to avoid complicating things.
"If there's any problems you have or things you want to change, let's talk about it now so we don't do it on set. So we just went through all the intensity, walked through what it would be like, what she wanted to do and what I wanted her to do. She's as good as it gets," the actor stated.
The actor continued that when it came to directing his wife in certain scenes, it didn't negate the fact that she was still the boss.
"She's always the boss, and I knew it. In the manual, it says she's the boss. So luckily, she let me direct, and then we came home-and then she went back to being the boss," he continued.
The couple attended the annual SXSW festival where they also showed a special screening of the film.
Still not quite sure last night was real... Thank you #SXSW for one of the greatest moments of my career! Could not have asked for a better place to premiere #AQuietPlace A post shared by John Krasinski (@johnkrasinski) on Mar 10, 2018 at 1:21pm PST
