R. Kelly made a rare appearance, when he graced the 2013 BET Awards stage. The veteran R&B singer enlisted the help of a large choir to perform a montage of his biggest hits, including Half on a Baby and Trapped in the Closet.

When he did take the stage, the Chicago native sported a jacket and hat, which were adorned with gold spikes. Kelly ran through several of hits, such as When A Woman's Fed Up, Bump n' Grind and Ignition. His performance brought the audience to their feet, in particular, Nicki Minaj, Dwyane Wade and Jamie Foxx seemed to enjoy the crooner's set.

Kelly abruptly left the stage in the middle of one of his songs, saying that he was out of time as he quickly exited the stage.

Kelly is set to release his 12th solo album Black Panties later this year. Kelly is hoping the record will reinvigorate his career, after his last album, 2012's Write Me Back, did little to maintain his relevancy amongst a slew of new R&B singers.
