Another R. Kelly Accuser Comes Forward, Says Singer Infected Her With STD
R&B singer R. Kelly’s alleged sexual harassment is making headlines again. This time, a woman has accused him of giving her an STD.
Latest Accusation Against R. Kelly
The woman, whose name has not been released to the public, made claims to the Dallas Police Department that Kelly wanted to get her ready for his alleged “sex cult” when they had gotten together in December. The singer was in town for a concert. The 19-year-old had been dating Kelly for more than six months at the time.
Her lawyer, Lee Merritt, said she broke up with Kelly in February after she had become a victim to his “several forms of criminal misconduct” such as “unlawful restraint, furnishing alcohol and illegal drugs to a minor, and aggravated assault (via the referenced intentional STD infection).”
The woman also said that Kelly tried to force her to sign on to be a member of his “sex cult” and reveal private family matters that he could use against her if ever things would have gone left. This is reportedly one of the factors that she had considered when she ended things with him.
Has The Singer Gone Too Far?
Kelly’s alleged inappropriate sexual activities have been making headlines since last July. The woman who filed the lawsuit is the latest from a handful of women who have accused the singer of keeping them captive in his Atlanta home.
Parents Jonjelyn and Timothy Savage were the first to break the news against Kelly. They said that their daughter, Jocelyn, was being kept at Kelly’s home.
Word is the woman in the lawsuit contacted the Savage family about her alleged relationship with Kelly. They commended her “bravery” for taking action against him and said they’re confident she could be the one to stop his reported lifestyle of taking advantage of younger women.
“We felt from the beginning that the reason he’s holding the girls is he has some kind of STD that he couldn’t cure,” said Timothy in an interview.
Another accuser, Kitti Jones, detailed her encounters of alleged physical and verbal abuse when she had been with Kelly for two years. She said she was 14 when Kelly started to groom her to become one of his “sex pets.” She added the singer would threaten her if she didn’t follow his orders.
All of the accusers have told similar stories of being held captive against their will and Kelly controlling all aspects of their lives including their wardrobe and communication with outsiders.
