Paula Patton's New Man In Her Life Is A Single Dad: 'I Have A Boyfriend Now'
Paula Patton has got herself a new man. The actress revealed in a recent interview that she has a boyfriend now but refused to reveal more details about her new beau.
New Romance
Patton talked about her love life during a sit-down interview with Extra TV on Monday to promote her new film Traffik, which she not only stars in but also produces. Host Tanika Ray was in Beverly Hills to discuss the actress's latest movie when she recalled the time the actress got all flustered during an interview with Mario Lopez.
Lopez had asked the 42-year-old Patton about her love life. At the time, the Somewhere Between star said that she was still "taste testing." Ray asked how is it going so far and the actress revealed that she is now dating someone.
"I have a boyfriend now. I do," Patton replied giddily and with a big smile on her face.
"I haven't called anybody a boyfriend. He's my boyfriend!" she added.
Patton said that she and her boyfriend have been dating for a month. Although they have only known each other for a short time, the American actress confessed that she already loves him, and said that "when you know, you know."
The 2 Guns actress declined to name the mystery man but revealed that she met him through their children. Apparently, her boyfriend is a single dad.
"If you have a kid and you have a basketball game, look at the daddies... It's kind of a suburban romance. He's got kids, I got a kid. It's one of those!" Patton explained.
Co-Parenting
In the same interview, the actress also talked about co-parenting son Julian Fuego with ex-husband Robin Thicke. Patton said the key to a successful co-parenting is to live in the now and to forgive and move on. She admitted that she would not be doing her child any service if she held on to anything from the past. Instead, it is important to bring as much peace and harmony to his son's life.
Patton went through a bitter custody battle over Julian with Thicke. However, they eventually worked out an arrangement at around the same time the singer's girlfriend, April Love Geary, announced her pregnancy. A source said the exes made their son a priority and figured out plans to get along for his sake. Now things seem better and happier for the family.
Patton's new film Traffik opens in theaters on April 20.
