Khloé Kardashian Defends Working Out After Giving Birth, Calls The Gym Her ‘Sanctuary'
Just five weeks after giving birth, Khloe Kardashian is back in the gym. The new mom is hitting it hard to get back into shape.
Getting Back Into It
She took to Snapchat to show off the results so far, lifting up her black long-sleeve shirt to show off her impressively toned stomach area. Kardashian described the gym as her "sanctuary," although she admitted it's been tough getting back into the swing of things.
"The beginning parts of working out kind of suck because you're pushing your body so hard, you're so tired, and you're trying to get back into your rhythm," the reality star admitted in the clip.
Kardashian noted that it's really tough getting back into working out after weeks of not doing anything.
"It's much more difficult than I think you expect it to be. I've been working out for 11 days now, I feel really good, but tired. My body is sore because it's re-waking itself back up," she advised.
Defending Her Lifestyle
The denim designer also addressed widespread criticism online of her desire to get back in the gym so soon after giving birth.
"They feel that I'm focusing too much on my body, but the truth is, I've worked out five or six days a week before I got pregnant and that's my sanctuary and something I love to do," she argued.
The Keeping up with the Kardashians star explained that she's just looking to get back into her routine in between caring for daughter True, who was born in April. She also pointed out the mental health benefits from exercising.
Kardashian reasoned that having a baby doesn't mean she can't work out. She admitted that she's been craving to getting back into shape.
The new mom is looking to target her butt, in particular. The reality star tells her followers that she needs to tighten the whole area up and make it more solid.
She's been updating fans on her progress after finally getting the all-clear to work out again last week. The fitness fanatic admitted she's finding it tough, but she's trying to motivate herself as best she can.
Focusing On The Positives
On Sunday, Kardashian shared a cryptic quote on Instagram about keeping her mindset positive, which many believed is a reference to her baby daddy, Tristan Thompson. The NBA player had been allegedly caught cheating on her just days before she gave birth to their daughter.
She also took the issue with a fan, referring to the so-called Kardashian curse on the site after a photo of her attending a Cleveland Cavaliers game was taken and posted without her permission.
Kardashian called the guy out for being thirsty and told him he should have been paying attention to the game instead of trying to snap photos the whole time.
