Ariana Grande Defends Whirlwind Romance With Pete Davidson: ‘Life’s Too Short To Be Cryptic’
The last few weeks have been eventful for Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. The pop star is done hiding how happy she is right now.
No Cares Left To Give
The "No Tears Left to Cry" singer and the Saturday Night Live star's relationship has progressed incredibly quickly. They have only been together for a few weeks, but there have been tattoos, a rumored $100,000 engagement ring, and, just yesterday, they shacked up in their own NYC apartment.
Now, Grande has revealed she's written a song about her new love, affectionately called "Pete," that will appear on here upcoming album Sweetener. She confirmed the news on Twitter, much to the shock and dismay of certain fans.
"Girl, we know you love him, but are you dumb?" wrote one, to which Grande succinctly responded "Nah."
When questioned about whether she even cares what anybody thinks anymore, the pop star and actress made her feelings on the situation very clear.
"For real. ... I been the f**k through it and life's too short to be cryptic and s**t about something as beautiful as this love I'm in. So Pete it is," she advised.
She Deserves A Break
Although Grande didn't elaborate further, fans will be aware of how difficult her life has been over the past year. She recently paid tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombing attack, a terrorist incident that happened shortly after one of her concerts in the U.K.
Twenty-two people were killed in the explosion, leading the singer, who recently got a tattoo on the anniversary of the attack, to reveal in a recent interview that she suffered PTSD after the incident.
"I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well," she told British Vogue.
She also split from her boyfriend of two years, rapper Mac Miller, later admitting that their relationship was toxic and frightening. Miller was charged with a DUI and a hit-and-run just days after their breakup.
When a fan tried to place the blame on Grande for dumping him, she clapped back immediately, telling the anonymous commenter that the relationship wasn't healthy and she did the best she could with Miller.
Davidson split from his partner, Cazzie David, around the same time. He and Grande have been crazy in love ever since they first went public with their relationship, frequently popping up on each other's social media accounts.
Grande even joked that her Instagram was nothing but a "Pete Davidson update" account now. Davidson also posted a PDA-heavy pic, describing the happiness he is currently feeling.
The couple seems to have made their lifelong pairing official with matching tattoos on their hands reading "H2GKMO," which means honest to god knock me out, a phrase Grande openly utilizes all the time.
