Yolanda Hadid Reportedly Upset David Foster Is Engaged To Katharine McPhee
Yolanda Hadid is spiraling in the wake of the news of her ex is marrying another woman and the reality star is reportedly heartbroken.
Completely Unacceptable
Hadid recently split from boyfriend Matt Mannis, which isn't helping matters. Hadid had a very public, difficult divorce from David Foster. Just a short while later, he's already engaged to a much younger woman, namely, Katharine McPhee.
According to sources close to the Real Housewives alum, she isn't taking the news well, with particular reference to the considerable age gap between the two.
"She was initially upset by the engagement. It's unacceptable and she thinks he's way too old for her," claimed an insider.
The 54-year-old infamously found out her six-year marriage to Foster was over via a heartbreaking phone call, back in 2017. Since their split, he's been spotted with a variety of women, including actress Elizabeth Hurley.
He made his relationship with American Idol alum McPhee, who's half his age, official at the Met Gala in New York. The pair got engaged just a few weeks later while on a romantic vacation on the Italian island of Capri.
Major Suspicion
Hadid reportedly suspected something was going on between her ex and the singer long before they confirmed anything.
The two originally met when McPhee was a contestant on American Idol back in 2006 and, according to Hadid, there was always something between them.
"She was threatened by their chemistry. They were more than flirty. She wanted David to be honest and he kept denying it. She was upset at him, not Katharine," an insider claimed.
The pair's quick engagement came around because McPhee refused to sign a prenup, against Foster's lawyers' advice.
This will be Foster's fifth marriage, following Hadid, B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, and Linda Thompson. Meanwhile, it will be McPhee's second marriage, following a nasty divorce from actor Nick Cokas. Funnily enough, Foster played the piano at their 2008 nuptials.
Blissfully Happy
The music producer recently opened up about how happy the couple they are, during an appearance on Access Live. He also admitted there was chemistry since they first met, confirming Hadid's earlier suspicions about the two.
A rep for McPhee confirmed the engagement earlier this month. She shared the news on Instagram, offering a few choice details about the sunset setting for the proposal.
According to those close to her, the Scorpion star can't wait to walk down the aisle with her much older man. When trolls criticized the quick engagement, she fired back on Twitter that there were more important things to worry about.
"Y'all should be worrying more about registering to vote and midterm elections than who's marrying me," she wrote at the time.
According to Foster, McPhee is the love of his life and his muse. The two are even planning to have children together.
The music producer has five kids from previous relationships, including actresses Erin and Sara Foster, both of whom celebrated news of the engagement online.
