'Scandal' Star Kerry Washington Secretly Weds Nnamdi Asomugha
Kerry Washington knows how to sweep events under the carpet in the ABC hit Scandal, but the actress can keep a secret in real life as well.
Washington discreetly married San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha late last month. According to a marriage certificate obtained by omg!, the unknown couple tied the knot in Idaho on June 24.
The 36-year-old actress was reportedly engaged once before but this marks her first time as a married woman. Washington broke off her engagement to actor David Moscow in 2007, according to E!.
Although the paparazzi never managed to get wind of Washington and Asomugha's relationship, TerezOwens.com reports that the two have been seeing each other since the summer of 2012.
Washington previously stared in such films as Django Unchained and The Last King of Scotland, but the actress really entered the public conscience in 2012 with Scandal.
The 31-year-old Asomugha is primarily a football player and worked with the Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles before recently signing with the San Francisco 49ers . He has also been seen on the small screen in several shows including Friday Night Lights and Leverage.
The couple appear to have left for their honeymoon this week as Washington told her Twitter followers she would "see u in a few weeks."
