Jennifer Lopez Shares A Look At 'Small Gathering' For 49th Birthday Celebration
Jennifer Lopez's idea of a small get-together is different from that of most people. The superstar singer celebrates turning 49 in serious style.

The "Dinero" singer celebrated her big day Tuesday, while on a luxurious vacation in the Bahamas with her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez. It was a real family affair too, as the couple was joined by her 10-year-old twins, Max and Emme, as well as Rodriguez's daughters Natasha, 13, and Ella, 10.
Lopez took to Instagram Wednesday to share some sweet shots taken during her birthday celebration. The mother of two showed off her two-tiered pink birthday cake and her stylish plunging green sequined birthday dress.
"So believe it or not I'm just waking up from my birthday celebration last night. It was a small gathering with the kids and some family and a couple of close friends," she captioned the selection of eight photos.
She may have put her glad rags on to celebrate properly, but Lopez spent most of the day in a bikini, relaxing and drinking champagne.
The actress and singer also shared that the day and night's worth of partying was filled with plenty of laughter, tears, and dancing.
The photos from Lopez's big day included a romantic shot with Rodriguez, as well as sweet shots with all the kids, and even a couple of the fitness fanatic indulging in some cake.
Sharing The Love
The Second Act star also thanked fans for all the kind messages sent to mark her big day, noting that her ability to entertain and inspire people is the greatest gift she could ever ask for.
"I was so delighted and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and birthday wishes you all sent to me yesterday!!" gushed Lopez.
Rodriguez, 42, also shared some highlights from their tropical vacation online. The two were seen enjoying cocktails on the beach, splashing around in the water, and enjoying quality time with their children.
The retired New York Yankees player had a sweet message for his girlfriend's birthday himself, which he shared with fans.
"For someone who has been about giving everything she has 365 days a year -- to our children, our families, the world -- I hope today, we can give you all the happiness you deserve. I love you mucho Macha 13," he wrote.
Rodriguez also shared another set of photos of Lopez and their children hanging out on vacation to mark the occasion.
The two first hooked up in March of last year and have been pretty inseparable ever since. The next milestone they celebrate together may even be something a bit more legally binding.
