Nicki Minaj Reveals Adele Collaboration: 'Epic!’
It seems like everyone's favorite rapper, Nicki Minaj, and Grammy award-winning singer Adele are teaming up for a new song.
On the launch of the rapper's new fashion line, "Fendi: Prints On," which was held in Beverly Hills last Tuesday, Entertainment Tonight asked if she and the British singer were working on anything or considering collaborating in the near future.
Minaj didn't hold back and answered, "Yes and yes, yes and yes, woohoo!"
The "Super Bass" singer added, "Adele made me swear to secrecy that I'm not allowed to tell anyone that I'm working with her, and we already shot a video. And it's an epic song!"
The two have been fans of each other for a long time now, but nobody was anticipating Adele to rap so perfectly when she guest-starred on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Everyone also remembers that Adele had a groundbreaking version of Minaj's "Monster" at the "No More Wack Parties Event."
On Tuesday, Minaj didn't share more info on the song or the video, but the collaboration could be part of Adele's forthcoming album. The 15-time Grammy winner has been teasing a new music for months now.
No release date has been announced, but given that Minaj and Adele have already shot the music video, it doesn't sound like it's going to be far from dropping anytime soon.
It was All a Joke?
"I was sarcastic!" Minaj, on Wednesday, walks back on the Adele collaboration claims.
After several media outlets ran Minaj's comments following the interview, she told her followers on Twitter that she thought everyone could see that she was being sarcastic.
A fan tweeted, "Sis, I was hype. I'm tired of the lies."
Another one tweeted, "The Barbz deleting all the tweets about the Nicki x Adele collab after Nicki said that she was only sarcastic."
Her faux statement comes a month after revealing that she was retiring from music soon to get married and have a family.
Adele's Upcoming Album
The "Rolling in the Deep" singer is allegedly getting ready both mentally and physically to endorse her new music. Sources reported that Adele's fourth album would be dropping mid-November.
They told The Sun that lead track is "upbeat" and all about the singer's relationship with her ex-husband Simon, albeit not in a negative way. They said it's positive and insightful of the good times. It's about learning to move on from them and making new celebrations by yourself.
An industry source added that Adele's new work was just as personal as her previous albums, saying, "New music is still a big deal for her, and she feels alive and happy."
Adele was recently reported to have recorded a collaboration with Beyoncé and One Republic, but the rumor was later shut down by a representative of One Republic.
The singer-songwriter has been quiet on social media for now, but that is yet to change soon.
