Steve Harvey's Stepdaughter Lori Harvey Arrested [DETAILS HERE]
Lori Harvey, stepdaughter of television host and comedian Steve Harvey, made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Lori, who works as a model, was arrested over the weekend for an apparent one-car accident. According to the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD), Harvey, 22, received a citation on a misdemeanor for hit-and-run.
Hit-and-Run and Obstruction of Investigation
The police received a report on Sunday (Oct. 20) at about 9:48 p.m. that a sedan collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle on Moreno drive in Los Angeles. A huge crowd was seen building up around the accident scene.
When the police arrived, they immediately spoke with the driver that hit the parked car. They identified it to be Lori Harvey, standing by her car using her mobile phone.
Her car smashed the parked vehicle from behind. Luckily, it was unoccupied at the time of the accident. Lori left scratchless from the accident. In fact, while the police were inspecting the accident scene, she was seen walking away before the officers were able to get her details.
In a statement, Lt. Elisabeth Albanese, the first responder, said that Harvey left the scene without providing the basic information they were asking for as mandated by the law. Her fleeing has caused a delay in the investigation the police were conducting.
Sgt. James Keenaghan of the BHPD said that Lori Harvey was arrested shortly thereafter. The 22-year-old was halted during the follow-up operation, the police said. She was given a citation for a misdemeanor for two reasons: for the hit-and-run accident she was involved in, and for obstructing the investigation/delaying of a police officer.
Lori was not booked nor was she taken into custody. This was made possible because she has identified herself and promised that she would appear in court.
News agencies asked for the response of Lori to the reports, but her camp remains closed for any comments. They refuse to give further comments on what happened.
The details of the make and model of the car the Lori used were not immediately shared by the police officers that made the investigation. Police later revealed the exact place of the accident to ensure the safety and security of those involved.
At the moment, no injuries were reportedly sustained in the accident. Harvey is due to present herself in court on Jan 21, 2020.
