Famous personalities sure have their own ways to support their chosen advocacies. Other celebrities donate cash; some join unity walks. As for Paul McCartney, he gives his music.

The co-lead vocalist and bassist of the English rock band "The Beatles" teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to promote the organization's motto "animals are not ours to experiment on" and to continue his legacy as an active animal rights activist.

Since 1993, McCartney has been protesting against animal cruelty through their song "Looking For Changes". He recently donated the song to the organization to create an animated video to show how much they want to come to the laboratories to rescue those animals who are suffering from inhumane experiments and confinement. The new music video was posted on PETA's Official Youtube Channel and displayed scenarios wherein the scientist/worker "get tricked by the animals" they want to experiment on.

In an interview conducted by PETA U.K. on October 23, 2019, McCartney shared his stand about animal cruelty after launching the "Looking for Changes" MV. He mentioned that he is "looking for changes" that will continuously help them with their advocacy.

"Experiments on animals are unethical - they're a colossal failure and a waste of time and money. We can and must do better," he went on.

The Beatles' icon collaboration with PETA is a friendly means to promote their mission by encouraging everyone to use the alternatives in discovering new things. Instead of using animals, PETA revealed that human cells and tissues could be of great help, as well as advanced technology which will not only save the animals, but also the workers' time and money.

McCartney and PETA's 20-year-old Advocacy

On Sep. 19, 2019, PETA announced that the collaboration between them and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to address the issues of the increasing number of animals in different laboratories was a success. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also joined the movement. They announced that the efforts made by PETA and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine for over 20 years have been paid off as they announced their plans to end brutal tests to animals before the year 2035 ends. If the universe will allow them to, the plan will be immediately processed sooner.

Aside from the committee, PETA has also partnered with over 260 celebrities all over the globe and that includes McCartney. For 20 years, they held hands with the science team to gain this breakthrough achievement. In 1998, they sent a giant bunny to accompany Al Gore, a then-presidential candidate, who started the campaign trail on "reducing animal use to chemical companies". It successfully established a deal with the Clinton administration that spared millions of animals who were lined up for laboratory tests.

PETA also launched a petition where people can sign the pledge that they will use cruelty-free products. The "Beauty Without Bunnies" is one of the organization's programs that offers easy access to the list of products you can buy from the companies who never used animals for laboratory testings.
