Kate Middleton Taking Big Steps to Give 'Normal' Childhood For Royal Children
Kate Middleton looks like she's getting her children ready for Halloween.
On Thursday, Kate was seen in a local Sainsbury Supermarket, apparently to buy Halloween costumes for her kids. She was overheard asking Prince George and Princess Charlotte what they wanted to be on Halloween.
While doing a little shopping at Kings Lynn Hardwick superstore, Kate even stopped to chat with the other mommy shoppers.
With the kids taking their fall break from Thomas Battersea, William and Kate seemed to have planned things ahead. The couple does not have any royal engagements in the coming week, and it looks like the family is going to enjoy Halloween together.
Finally, they'd be able to spend some quiet family time at their lovely home in Norfolk.
Kate Loves Local Shopping
Wearing a simple pair of black trousers and a black polo neck, Kate went ahead and used the self-service check-out counter to finalize her purchases. The store was a 30-minute drive from their Cambridge country house, a gift they received for their wedding.
This was not the first time Kate went out to shop at a local store, though. She was seen at Waitrose before, too.
Last December, she bought last-minute Christmas purchases at the Range, which is a budget-friendly store.
Who would have thought the future queen's shopping spree over the holidays would fit right into everyone else's budget? Is Kate trying to make a statement?
Kate Tries To 'Normalize' Children's Lives
Before Kate Middleton married Prince William, she lived a simple life. She had a happy and comfortable childhood, and she wants nothing less for their children.
Although Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are all born into the royal family, she wants to make sure they have a "normal" childhood.
"She wants to emulate her upbringing, living in the countryside with a close-knit family," a friend of the Royal family revealed to PEOPLE. The same friend added that Kate was trying her best to 'normalize' everything for their children.
Are the Royals Ready?
Kate Middleton, future queen, may want normality for her children, but is the palace ready for it?
Prince William has not said a word about his wife shopping from a thrift store. However, he hasn't been spotted with her when she does their special trips to these local stores. Perhaps, the Duke of Cambridge has been used to following the royal protocol and would rather not make these shopping trips a big deal.
The Duchess of Cambridge grew up in a simple, yet loving family. It is no surprise that the mother of three wants her children to have the same happy childhood that she has. If these trips to the local stores are her way of normalizing things for her children, it makes a pretty good impression on the public.
In truth, Kate Middleton, in her desire to give her kids the normalcy that she wants, has also brought the royals closer to the public.
