Liam Payne Says Being A Father 'Messed' Him Up
Liam Payne has many regrets in his life, and as he grows up and becomes more mature, he is now realizing the mistakes he made.
The former One Direction member has opened up about his relationship with his ex and his life in general in an upcoming documentary, "Ant Middleton and Liam Payne: Straight Talking."

The "Strip That Down" singer has admitted that his ex, Cheryl Cole, remains "one of the most important people" in his life even after a year after they decided to split.

Cheryl and Payne are parents to now two-year-old Bear Payne.
In a report Heat Magazine, being a father at a really young age "messed up" the then 23-year-old star.
"It's a tricky thing, and I think I build fatherhood up so much in my head that it messed me up to start with. I started in the wrong place with it," Liam added.
Payne said that it was the scariest thing in the world to take care of a "tiny thing." He thought that he was too young to become a father, so it was a learning curve the whole time.
"I think it spooked me out early on, and I was just worried I would not be enough to look after both of them," Payne furthered.
However, Liam said it allowed him to be a better person and "you'd be stupid not to take the chance."

Liam and Cheryl met when he was 14, and she was 25 when he auditioned for The X Factor back in 2008.
They started to date eight years after Cheryl's marriage with Fresh restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini ended.
"The one thing I was missing as a man in the relationship I had was a level understanding about what she was feeling about stuff. I think I learnt through being away that, while I wanted to protect her, there's a big part of her that wants to protect me," Payne told Middleton about his breakup.
Though they have already broken up, Liam joked that he and Cheryl could still get back together "if she plays her cards right" -- though he admitted that he would be in trouble for saying that.
At the moment, Liam Payne is dating 19-year-old Maya Henry. In past interviews, he said he felt "very relaxed" and "happy with her."
Before they dated, Maya was a big fan of One Direction. She met Payne in 2015 at the band's meet and greet. They later crossed paths in July 2018 for a Dolce & Gabbana event.
