Cyrus successfully underwent vocal cord surgery this week, a month after she dealt with tonsillitis.
The 26-year-old's condition was confirmed by People following the news of his reported tonsilitis that got him hospitalized last October.
Cyrus' attending physician discovered that there was also an underlying problem with her vocal cords, thereby recommending her to undergo surgery before the end of the year.
Since Cyrus is still recovering, she needs to stay silent for weeks for her to recover faster even if it means using pen and paper to temporarily communicate with other people.
Due to these sudden occurrences, the "Wrecking Ball" singer decided to put her plans on hold. It includes delaying the release of her new album and performing. Before being hospitalized for tonsillitis last month, she performed at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
A source told People that the release of Cyrus' new album, "She Is Miley Cyrus," is taking longer than anticipated, and it might have something to do with his vocal issues that needed surgery. The album, which was supposed to hit the records this year, is the most anticipated full-length album of Cyrus through RCA Records.
Meanwhile, Cody Simpson seems to have confirmed that his partner's surgery was a success by sharing a black-and-white photo of them on his Instagram story alongside the caption "success."
A source told E! News that the Australian singer accompanied Cyrus at the hospital and has been staying by her side. Simpson is also at their love nest to keep her company while watching movies and resting together.
Since Cyrus is one brave girl, her silence does not affect her everyday life. She later shared a video of her working out on her Instagram story, saying that "On vocal rest, not body".
It's two months before 2019 ends, and the whole year seemed to be tough for Cyrus. Her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth filed a divorce after their summer split and is now dating Madison Brown. Hemsworth also called it quits after he unfollowed her on Instagram. Cyrus, meanwhile, broke up with Kaitlyn Carter (to whom she had a relationship with after her split with Hemsworth) in September.
