Kevin Hart 'Let Me Explain' Box Office Grosses $7.4 Million [TRAILER]
Kevin Hart's movie Let Me Explain is a box office success.
As of July 4, the stand-up comedy has earned $7.4 million at the box office, according to Deadline.com. The movie has only been in U.S. theaters for two days.
The movie grossed $4.8 million in its opening day, according to Variety. The publication also predicts that movie could gross up to $29 million through Sunday.
Hart's last stand-up comedy feature was released in 2011 and was also successful. The movie only played in 300 theaters nationwide and still managed to gross $7.7 million. Deadline also reports that his latest film is playing in 876 theatres across the country.
The movie was filmed during a sold-out performance of Hart's Madison Square Garden show in 2012, during his Let Me Explain concert tour.
The actor spoke with OnTheRedCarpet in an article posted on July 3 and explained what it's like for him when he receives a positive reaction from his audience.
"I mean, words can't describe it, you know," he sad. "You're passing the test. You know, it's where you take the written spelling test, or as a child, or your history test, and you studied but you don't know how well of a job you did studying but you know you studied a whole lot and you get our test back and you an A plus."
This year Hart appeared in This Is The End with James Franco. The comedian will also appear in several upcoming movies, including Ride Along with Ice Cube, Grudge Match with Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone, School Dance and About Last Night with Paula Patton.
He also hosted a Fourth of July concert in Philadelphia on Thursday night. The 33-year-old wrote on Twitter that he would be surprising fans who went to watch his movie in the city, before his hosting gig.
"Philly come meet me at the 4:30pm showing of #LetMeExplain at the UA Riverview Plaza theater...Im treating everybody to the movie & popcorn," he tweeted.
