Ciara's fifth and self-titled studio album hit stores on Tuesday and the singer visited BET's 106 & Park on Monday to promote it.

During the show, the 27-year-old spoke about what makes this album different than her previous four.

"I've changed a lot," she said. "I did like self-reflection, looked at myself, I was like 'you've got to live more, you've got to turn up more, you've got to let go more.'"

Her new perception on life influenced the sound of her latest album, she said. The singer also noted that she had the most fun putting together Ciara, her most personal record to date.

"I was just really vulnerable and I allowed myself to do that and I think you have to do that to grow," she said of the album's intimacy.

She also said that she stepped out of her comfort zone to achieve the vulnerably.

"Run towards your fears, embrace your pains and go towards the things that make you feel uncomfortable."

After discussing the album, she performed two songs on the show. Wearing a red dress and sitting on a chair, she sang an acoustic version of her song DUI. She also changed into a baggy sweatshirt with the word "Hollyhood" imprinted on it and danced to her single Body Party. B.o.B joined Ciara on stage to rap his verse from the song's remix.

Ciara's self-titled album is her newest music since her 2010 release Basic Instinct. On the new album, she raps on the song Super Turnt Up in order to "have fun, give it personality and swag out," she said.

This isn't the first time the singer displayed some of her rapping skills. On her previous album she rapped on the track also titled Basic Instinct. Her fourth album peaked at No. 44 on Billboard.
