Lauryn Hill reported to federal prison on Monday to begin a three-month sentence for failing to pay federal income taxes. Now, new details about the musician's prison stay have been leaked to the public.

Ed Ross, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons told USA Today that Hill will reside in a minimum security prison in open "dormitory-style" living space. She is expected to work in landscaping, food service or cleaning.

TMZ reported on July 9 that when the Ready Or Not rapper checked into the Federal Correctional Institute in Danbury, Connecticut on Monday, she was served a meal that consisted of BBQ pulled pork, with carrots, peas, sweet potatoes and had an option of juice or milk to drink with it.

Sources added that Hill's daily activities may include cleaning, assisting the education department with help for her fellow inmates or she can work in the religious services department. The New Jersey native won't be secluded and has been placed in a populated section with other inmates.

Last year, Hill plead guilty in a Newark, NJ courtroom for tax evasion. She was sentenced in May for failing to file tax returns in 2005, 2006, and 2007 and owed $1.8 million to the IRS. It was later revealed that she also failed to pay state and federal taxes in 2008 and 2009, which brought the total debt to $2.3 million.

During her sentencing, Hill said she left the entertainment business to protect herself and her six children, according to Huffington Post. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sandra Moser countered Hill's claims during the hearing and described Hill's explanation as "a parade of excuses centering around her feeling put upon."

After Hill is released, she will serve three months at home in confinement and will be supervised by a parole officer for a year.

Hill, who rose to fame in 1990s as a member of the New Jersey-based rap group The Fugees, rose to international stardom following the release of her first solo album, 1998's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She has won five Grammys for her solo efforts.
