The film begins as Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) returns home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Hutcherson). The two winners must embark on on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts while leaving their families and friends behind once again. Along the way, Katniss senses a rebellion stirring among the districts following the first time two tributes win the Hunger Games competition. At the same time, the Capitol remains very much in control as President Snow (Donald Sutherland) prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games called The Quarter Quell.
