Ed Sheeran serenaded thousands of lucky fans during his concert on the TODAY plaza Friday morning.

The 22-year-old Brit sang hits Lego House,The A Team, and You Need Me, I Don’t Need You, as the crowd sang along with every word.

Fans began lining up on Wednesday and by Thursday morning, hundred of fans had formed a line outside of Rockefeller Plaza.

His loyal fans waited in the summer heat -- and a few short rain storms -- to see The A Team singer. "Fans are already in line for @EdSheeran concert! pic.twitter.com/Ioif306gdE #EdSheeranTODAY," a tweet from the TODAY show twitter said.

Information on the show's website told fans to "make sure to rock the color orange in support of your favorite red-haired singer, who will be singing his hits live on TODAY."

"My nana always said if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere," Sheeran said as he looked on at the sea of orange during the July 12 concert. "I'm just overwhelmed by it."

Last month, Us Weekly reported that Selena Gomez began hooking up with Sheeran after being introduced over Memorial Day Weekend by Taylor Swift.

Despite the fact that the singer-songwriter said he "wouldn't complain" about being set up with the former Disney star, the gossip is false. Sheeran's camp says there is "no truth" to the dating rumors, according to Metro U.K.
