Robert Downey Jr. tops Forbes magazine annual Highest Paid Actors list this year.

According to the magazine, the Iron Man 3 star raked in more earnings than any other male in Hollywood from June, 2012 to June, 2013--a whopping $75 million. The estimated earnings were based on the success of six films he appeared. Two of them--2012's The Avengers and Iron Man 3--grossed more than $1 billion collectively.

Downey earned a percentage of The Avengers' $1.5 billion in earnings, making more money than the film's director, according to the report. His earning potential will likely increase after he begins filming The Avengers sequel next year. It will arrive in theaters in 2015.

Magic Mike actor Channing Tatum came in just behind Downey Jr. with an income of $60 million. Tatum landed at No. 2, a surprisingly high position on the list, because he earned money as both a producer and financer of the film based loosely on life as a stripper.

Tatum, with funding from Magic Mike director, Steven Soderbergh, paid for the film's production cost of $7 million, and the duo split the film's profits of $167 million. Channing, who was named to People magazine's Beautiful list, will earn more money from the Magic Mike franchise, which now includes an upcoming Broadway play and a film sequel.

Jackman was No. 4 on the list with earnings of $55 million, while Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson landed on the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively. The pair co-starred in the spring film Pain & Gain, which arrived in theaters in April. Wahlberg's position on the list was credited to his film Ted, which was a surprise hit of 2012. The film cost $50 million to make and grossed $550 million.

Johnson's appearance in Fast & Furious 6 helped him round out the top 5 on Forbes' list.
