Wimbledon women's semifinalist Agnieszka Radwanska was punished by a Catholic group after the tennis star posed nude in the ESPN Body Issue.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Radwanska, 24, was dropped by Krucjata Mlodych (Youth Crusade), a Catholic youth organization after her "immoral behavior" was reflected in the photo shoot. The tennis player was featured in explicit photos of both floating in and sitting next to a pool filled with tennis balls.

Radwanska's private parts are covered up, with the overall impact left for imagination.

Youth Crusade runs a campaign called "I am not ashamed of Jesus," which the tennis player participated a few years ago.

Father Marek Dziewiecki, a senior Catholic priest, expressed anger over the nude image in an interview with The Telegraph.

"It's a shame that someone who has declared their love for Jesus is now promoting the mentality of men looking at a woman as a thing rather than a child of God worthy of respect and love," Dziewiecki said. "If she meets a man who she can truly love and establish a happy family and raise Catholic children, then she would probably have to hide these pictures from relatives."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for ESPN said the Body Issue honored athelticsm in the most artsy form, adding that it was paying "homage to the vast potential of the athletic form, demonstrated through creative photography... showcasing photos that celebrate sport's most prized physiques, both male and female."

The tennis player, who fell short to Germany's Sabine Lisicki in this year's Wimbledon semi-final, showed confidence during the photo shoot.

"I feel fortunate that I can stay pretty lean without having to do too much gym work," Radwanska told ESPN. "My usual routine is a plate of pasta 30 minutes before I'm due to go on court. If I don't, I end up starving midmatch. That habit dates back to when my dad used to pick me up from school and drive me straight to matches. We had no time for dinner, so I had to stuff myself in the car."
