It appears that Saoirse Ronan will not be appearing in 2015's The Avengers 2.

Since writer/director Joss Whedon's introduction of Quicksilver and his mutant sister Scarlet Witch to the Avengers cast of characters, Marvel fans are waiting to see who will the roles of Magneto's children.

Early rumors put Irish actress Saoirse Ronan in the lead to take the job, and even the Atonement star was quick to say she wouldn't be averse to snagging the role.

"I love Joss and I love those films, and I love his handle on them and how he portrayed these kinds of superheroes," the 19-year-old Ronan said to The Mary Sue. "I think it's very different from what anyone else has done. So yeah, I'd love to be in it."

The young mutant character will bring a different type of superpower to the Avenger's team. Instead of the usual 'Hulk Smash!' mentality, the Scarlet Witch works through spells and telekinesis and should create an interesting dynamic with the rest of the team.

However, Ronan claims she won't get the chance to portray such a character.

"That's not happening, no! I think that was just one of those little rumors floating about," Ronan recently told The Irish Post.

The Avengers 2 is the culmination of Marvel's Phase Two plan and will be released in 2015.
