Kristen Stewart was photographed Wednesday on the set of her new film Camp X-Ray, in which the 23-year-old plays a soldier assigned to Guantanamo Bay.

Paparazzi photographers caught the former Twilight star in Los Angeles on the first day of shooting wearing a military uniform with her brunette hair tied back into a tight bun. She was filming on a boat with the film's production team and cast, including co-star Tara Holt.

At one point, Stewart got so overheated in her military ensemble that she removed her jacket to reveal a tight-fitted gray T-shirt. She later was dressed in her own clothes and she sat back on the boat by herself while a group of male co-stars jumped into the ocean. She relaxed in between scenes in white socks, Adidas flip flops, board shorts, a bathing suit and a loose gray tank top.

Holt, 25, laughed and joked with the men on set while Stewart sat by herself with a bottle of beer. Holt was photographed walking on set in cut of jean shorts and a string bikini top. She plays a character named Mary in the film.

Wednesday marked one year exactly since Stewart was caught cheating on her then-boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

In the film Stewart played a character named Cole, who befriends an eight-year Guantanamo Bay detainee, Ali (Peyman Moaddi). The movie also stars Lane Garrison (Shooter) and Joseph Julian Soria (Army Wives). Camp X-Ray comes out in 2014 as well as Stewart's other film: Sils Maria.

Margot Robbie replaced Stewart in the new Will Smith film Focus, reportedly because of Stewart and Smith's 21-year age difference. The con man movie is from the directors of Crazy, Stupid, Love.
