Singer Rihanna declared "grey is the new black" in a series of Instagram photos she uploaded on Wednesday and Thursday, debuting a new hair color the Diamonds singer is sporting.

The 25-year-old captioned one picture "New color ice grey ish, call it #Brrr," and wrote for another image, "Grey is the new black! Blondies, it's quiet for y'all! #brrr." The images show her gray locks both straightened and curly.

The Bajan beauty has changed up her hair color - and style - numerous times over the years. She started off her career, back when Pon De Replay came out in 2009, with long brown locks cascading past her shoulders. She has since sported red hues, blonde, black, and variations of those same colors. Taking an edgy turn around the time that she released her hit songs Umbrella and Disturbia, both from her 2007 Good Girl Gone Bad album, she cut off her long locks and opted for an asymmetrical, short black bob that she later styled with uneven bangs.

Rihanna had fire-hydrant red hair on the cover of her 2010 album Loud (around the time she was photographed with Justin Bieber at a basketball game) and in her music video for S&M. She had her shortest hair cut ever - a black hued pixie - on the cover of her latest album, 2012's Unapologetic. She had the same short hairstyle while dating singer Chris Brown, and the two were even photographer linking arms at a basketball game.

She had the same pixie cut when she graced the April 2013 issue of Elle UK, Complex magazine's February/April 2013 issue and a Vogue issue in 2012.

On the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in late January, she had wavy curls drooping on one side with shaved hair on the other. Before her turn to gray, the self-proclaimed "Badgalriri" was seen with blonde hair but with her roots remaining black.

Rihanna also went completely blonde in an ad for her fragrance Nude.
