One Direction Wax Figures Debut in New York Madame Tussauds Museum [PHOTOS]
One Direction's wax figures were unveiled at Madame Tussauds in New York City on Thursday.
The figures sport outfits donated by the singers themselves that represent their personal styles, and they are seated casually on a school-style double bench that provides sufficient space for fans to sit beside them.
The figures of Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne were previously and will be in display in New York for only 12 weeks, until Oct. 11. They will then head to Madame Tussauds in Sydney, Australia, and then Madame Tussauds Tokyo.

A select group of One Direction fans, along with members of the press, were present to witness the unveiling on Thursday at the museum. They shrieked when the curtains were pulled back and then quickly when to sit with the boys and take pictures. Some of the female fans also pretended to kiss the singer's on the cheeks.

"We are delighted to welcome One Direction to New York on their Madame Tussauds World Tour, and judging by the reaction of fans today, their stay here is going to be a huge success," said Bret Pidgeon, Regional General Manager Madame Tussauds New York. "The demand for them in New York has been staggering, and I know the anticipation in Sydney and Tokyo, where they will journey to next, has been equally as overwhelming."
Over the course of two sittings with each band member, the Madame Tussauds studios team took hundreds of measurements, examined their skin tones, matched their eye colors and tested hair swatches, the museum said in a released statement. The band's personal hair stylist, Louise Teasdale, then performed a hair analysis to ensure accuracy. A team of 40 people - including sculptors, molders, hair stylists, colorists and wardrobe experts - worked for four months to create the figures.
