'America's Got Talent' 2013 Details: Howie Mandel Admits Difficulty in Eliminating Child Acts Ahead of Tuesday's Live Show [VIDEO]
America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel revealed some of the difficulties in letting go of the various child acts during the Vegas round.
"Every child was hard to cut; we have such a high level of kid talent," Mandel admitted Thursday in his weekly column for Parade magazine. He singled out the dance acts as particularly strong this year, which is part of why they cut such strong dancers as 17-year-old Dylan Wilson.
"Unfortunately, somebody had to go," Mandel wrote. "I think any other given year, he would have been in the top 10."
Mandel said that his Twitter feed has "blown up with anger" in response to certain acts being cut.
On the flip side, he revealed that people have expressed their anger about 11-year-old "screamo" singer Aaralyn being sent through to the live shows. He said that people on Twitter have been asking him how they could "let somebody who has a classic voice go home" while keeping Aaralyn in the competition.
"To be honest with you, the screamo girl is more memorable," he wrote.
Mandel concluded that America was going to have "the toughest time" voting for what he considers to be "a better show than we've ever had."
