Comic-Con attendees were treated to a short clip announcing the name of Marvel's culminating phase two film, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Slated as the next superhero movie from writer/director Joss Whedon, the second Avengers film takes its name from a recent comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis.

Although the series' robotic character was created in 1968, Whedon warns fans that this is not going to be the same Ultron they may have read about and may have little to do with the similarly titled recent releases.

"Because there was a book called Age of Ultron quite recently, a lot of people have assumed that is what we're doing, but that is not the case," Whedon said in a Marvel interview. "We're doing our own version of the origin story for Ultron."

When the title was revealed, fans wondered how Ultron could exist in a phase two era when the robot's creator, Hank Pym (also known as Ant-Man), wont be introduced until Edgar Wright's Ant-Man film in phase three.

"In the origin story, there was Hank Pym, so a lot of people assumed that he will be in the mix. He's not," Whedon said told Marvel at Comic-Con.
"We're basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside."

With the film set to begin shooting at the end of February in London, Whedon is still working on finishing up the Avengers: Age of Ultron script.
