Demi Lovato warned singer and good friend Miley Cyrus to "be careful" with her partying habits, the X Factor judge recently told MTV News.

A reporter asked the singer what she thinks of We Can't Stop, the lead single off of Cyrus' upcoming album. In her response, Lovato also said commented on her friend's affinity for partying.

"I think it's great. I think it's a good song," she said of Cyrus' song, before adding, "She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing."

The music video for We Can't Stop features Cyrus twerking in a bodysuit, making out with a life-sized doll and singing about "dancing with Molly." She recently admitted that the respective lyrics could be interpreted as referring to the drug MDMA, also known as ecstasy. She told Daily Mail, "If you're aged 10 [the lyric is] Miley. If you know what I'm talking about, then you know."

Lovato expressed her adoration for Cyrus but also said she gives fair warnings to her friend about the partying lifestyle.

"I love her to death," Lovato said of the former Hannah Montana star. "And I'm always like, 'Just be careful.' And she's like, 'Dude, I'm chilling. It's fine.' "

"I care for her so much [that] I'm so protective, but she's good," she added. "She's got a good head on her shoulders. [We Can't Stop] is a song that a lot of people have fun to. And if people are enjoying it, then great."

At time of publication, the VEVO music video for We Can't Stop had almost 95,000 views on YouTube. The clip was released on June 19 though RCA Records. A snippet of Wrecking Ball, the second single from her upcoming album, was released earlier in July.
