Nas New Album 2013 Collaboration: Jay Z & Justin Timberlake on 'Sinatra in the Sand' Song, Timbaland Reveals [VIDEO]
Jay Z and Justin Timberlake collaborated with Nas on a song entitled Sinatra in the Sands off the Queens emcee's upcoming album, producer Timbaland revealed.
The beatmaker provided the instrumentals for the trio's last joint venture, BBC, off Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail album. Timbaland told Revolt TV, in a video released on Tuesday, that he's working on several songs for Nas' yet-to-be-titled follow-up to Life is Good, which was released in July of 2012.
"I told Jay-Z, the person who gets me from hip-hop, their album is going to be phenomenal and that's Nas," he said. "Nas got a song right now with him Jay and Justin that's completely stupid. It's called Sinatra in the Sand, and Justin sounds like Frank Sinatra."
The super producer also revealed that the record is so amazing, Jay Z tried to lure it away for his own project.
"Jay was like 'man what you going to do with that record?' and I was like 'no way, now way,'" Timbaland said.
Nas appeared on New York's Hot 97 radio station in January and told host Angie Martinez he was indeed peening a new record. He said, "I got some good stuff. I'm in the zone right now and I feel real good about where I'm at, so I gotta take advantage of it."
Maintaining creative momentum is a goal Timbaland shared with Jay Z and Timberlake during their recent work together.
"I was telling both of them, let's don't stop while we got this energy," he said. "Let's just keep pumping music out. Why are we stopping? We're just now tapping into our artistry. We're making real music now."
