Justin Bieber's Grandmother Defends Him: 'I feel sorry for Justin'
The love for a grandchild runs deep, even if your grandson is 19-year-old Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
One person sticking by the troubled musician during his controversial behavior is his maternal grandmother Diane Dale.
Dale was seen greeting Bieber with a huge hug as he prepared to perform for fans at Canadian Tire Centre, according to a July 25 Daily Mail article.
The grandma-grandson embrace came after she defended him in a interview with CTV Ottowa, Daily Mail reported.
"It's totally crazy. I feel sorry for Justin all the time because paparazzi pick on him all the time.," Dale said about the attention Bieber attracts. " Anybody else's kids have done the same thing but nobody says anything."
Dale continues, "He's just a 19 year old boy. And before you criticize him, say, what is my 19-year-old boy doing?"
The Never Say Never singer's grandmother was pictured wearing a nametag titled 'Grandma' while she waited to see her grandson before his concert.
Bieber's mom Pattie Mallette isn't as excited to talk about the teenage heartthrob in interviews.
RadarOnline.com reported on July 25 that Mallette asked journalists in Canada, where she has been promoting her book, not to ask about her son's recent controversial adventures.
"The way I look at it is regardless of whatever is in the headlines, there are always people who need that hope and inspiration," Mallete reportedly said at a book signing in Ottawa on July 23. "Regardless of what my son is up to today or tomorrow, it doesn't change the face that I am out here to share my story with other people because my story is what is going to give them hope."
The publication also reported that Bieber's girlfriend fellow singer Selena Gomez also has asked reporters not to ask questions about him in interviews.
