'Romeo and Juliet' New Movie 2013 Trailer & Poster [VIDEO] Shows 'Most Dangerous Love Story'
The new movie trailer and movie poster for this year's Romeo & Juliet was recently released, revealing new footage from the film.
The movie poster shows Hailee Steinfeld (Juliet) and Douglas Booth (Romeo) face-to-face as their foreheads touch, with Romeo laying his hand on Juliet's face. The tagline featured is "The Most Dangerous Love Story Ever Told."
The movie trailer starts out with a voice over that says, "Never was a story a more woe than this of Juliet and Romeo." It then includes captions of what the movie entails: "Innocent hearts," "forbidden desires" and "sworn enemies."
Steinfeld and Booth are this century's version of Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, who appeared in the 1996 Shakespeare adaptation. The 16-year-old actress said she helped with the casting process and explained why she chose Booth.
"You have so many talented people, but it's all about finding the chemistry as well as the chemistry between us," she said in a recent interview with Company magazine. "He was passionate about the project and took it seriously."
Romeo & Juliet is directed by Carlo Carlei and was written by Academy Award winner Julian Fellowes, known for being the creator and executive producer of Downton Abbey. The adaptation also stars Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick (Tybalt), Homeland's Damian Lewis (Lord Capulet), Paul Giamatti and Stellan Skarsgard.
"I'm so excited," Steinfeld told Access Hollywood. "I can't wait for everyone to see the film...The text is a bit modernized for this generation, but other than that, it's very traditional."
Steinfeld's break-out role was when she starred in True Grit, in which she was nominated for an Academy Award in 2011. Her lead English co-star, Booth, made his U.S. debut in 2012's LOL starring alongside Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore. The 21-year-old actor is currently filming Jupiter Ascending with Channing Tatum, Eddie Redmayne and Mila Kunis.
Romeo & Juliet hits theaters Oct. 11. Watch the trailer below.
