Lady Gaga 'ARTPOP' PHOTO, First Single Release Date & VMA Performance [VIDEO]
Lady Gaga goes nude in a new promo image for her upcoming album ARTPOP.
In the photo, released via Twitter on Friday, a brunette Gaga sits on a chair with exposed electrical parts. She also wears funky glasses and what appears to be black socks. A tattoo that reads ARTPOP is also visible on her left arm. The photo is now her Twitter avatar.
The 27-year-old also expressed some excitement for the album's forthcoming lead single on the social network.
"1ST SINGLE FROM ARTPOP COMES AUG. 19 #24DAYS," she tweeted.
On Tuesday, Gaga documented her trip to Master Mind Ink, a Chicago tattoo parlor where she got her nose pierced. The singer shared a video clip of the process with her fans. The parlor also posted a photo of Gaga along with the man who pierced her septum, Steve Bennett.
The singer, who spent months recovering from her hip surgery in February, will hit the stage at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 25. She plans to perform the new single at the show. MTV reporter Sway Calloway made the announcement on Instagram. His video post garnered over 13 thousand likes.
Earlier in July, the singer also announced via Facebook that her new album ARTPOP will be released on November 11. Fans will be able to pre-order her third full-length studio album starting Sept. 1.
"The album ARTPOP musically mirrors Gaga's creative process as she passes through the mediums of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint of her journey," the post explained.
The record will arrive with a special phone application. The app will be "a musical and visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology," she said in the Facebook post.
ARTPOP will be Gaga's follow-up to Born This Way, which was released in 2011. Her sophomore album, which features the hits Marry The Night, Born This Way, Judas and The Edge of Glory, went multi-platinum and was No. 1 on Billboard.
