'Glee' star Jayma Mays' Reveals Shocking Medical Diagnosis, Admits a Bug Lived in Her Ear [WATCH]
Glee star Jayma Mays managed to gross out Ashton Kutcher, Jay Leno and the whole audience of The Tonight Show.
On Wednesday, Mays explained to Leno and fellow guest Kutcher that she was just getting over an awful earache, that she thought was from an infection. Turns out what was really happening to the actress's ear was a whole lot more repulsive than an infection.
"This was really serious. I didn't know if I could come tonight it was so serious," Mays said.
"So like a week ago, I started getting this really bad ear infection-I thought ear infection," she said. "A couple days into this infection, I woke up in the middle of the night like screaming in pain, like horrible, horrible pain. And blood started coming out of my ear."
The actress said she took an aspirin to deal with the pain and used a heating pad on her ear until she could go to the doctors the next day.
This is where the story turned terribly gross. Mays then revealed, "The nurse puts my head to the side and does the little drops in my ear. When she put the drops in my ear, it started to drown the insect that was living in there, so it climbed out of my ear."
Disgusted Kutcher was kicking in his chair while yelling, "No!"
Mays then explained that the blood from her ear was from the insect was biting and scratching. She said this insect made a home in her ear because it was extremely clean.
"It's because my ears were too clean. Apparently, you're not supposed to clean your ears, because the wax prevents bugs from living inside," Mays said. "I'm too clean."
