Johnny Depp's name got suddenly connected with Brian Laundrie's case after more details about the fugitive's case unfolded.

Depp's controversial text messages with Paul Bettany about Amber Heard reemerged ahead of the actor's defamation trial against his ex-wife. The "WandaVision" star, for his part, said that it was an unpleasant feeling to have their communications exposed in public.

With that, some internet users started comparing Depp to Laundrie and how he reportedly became a mirror to what Laundrie did before murdering Gabby Petito.

On Twitter, several users tried linking the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star to the late fugitive using several details about his life.

One replied to author Matt Shaw's tweet about people who believe Amber Heard's claims against Depp. Per Shaw, those believers are surely mentally stunted, and Depp's fans should never argue with a "baked bean."

The message was not well received by many internet users that they called out Shaw for supporting Depp. He also caused them to compare the actor to the fugitive.

A Twitter user said shared Shaw's books with NSFW titles, writing, "You have to sell your books on Etsy. You must be very "accomplished". Not really surprised someone who decided on these titles is in Depp's corner."

"Matt seems to fantasize about brutality towards women as much as his idol #JohnnyDepp. You know who else had this sick fascination? #brianlaundrie before he murdered #GABBYPETITO," another added.

Why Some People Believe Johnny Depp Abused Amber Heard

Although there have been millions of people who continue to support and believe Depp, some refused to do so and insisted that the actor truly had dark thoughts about his ex-wife.

For instance, his text exchange with Bettany in 2013 showed how badly he wanted to burn and drown Heard. The most severe and alarming words came when Depp allegedly texted: "I will f*** her burnt corpse afterward to make sure she is dead."

Depp allegedly forwarded the texts to Bettany when his marriage with Heard hit rock bottom.

The barrister for The Sun Adam Wolanski QC and the publication's executive director Dan Wootton pushed the actor to the edge even more when they publicized another text to Bettany regarding the alleged "altercation" with Heard on a plane in May 2014.

A part of the message read: "I'm gonna properly stop the booze thing, darling... Drank all night before I picked Amber up to fly to LA, this past Sunday...Ugly, mate."
