Anderson Cooper cracked up on air Tuesday night while covering Dyngus Day for "The Ridiculist" segment of CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360."

Cooper began laughing uncontrollably after a local news anchor explained a tradition of Dyngus Day where boys sprinkle girls they fancy with water, and girls strike back with a "tap from a pussy willow branch."

Cooper interrupted his rant to try to control himself and stood up from his seat. But as he returned he began to crack up.

"It's really so stupid," Cooper laughed. "Oh come on! this is torture" he said.

"Just got to let it out," he laughed again and then dried his eyes with a napkin.

This is not the first giggling fit of Cooper. Last summer he burst into laughs while discussing French Actor Gerard Depardieu.

Dyngus Day is a Polish-American tradition that is observed the day after Easter. It celebrates the end of Lent.
