Madonna ‘Secret Project’ Trailer Release, New Clip Addresses Political Issues [VIDEO]
In a new trailer for Madonna's unnamed "Secret Project" released on Tuesday, the pop singer says a lot of strong words that deal with today's world issues.
While the black and white video pans over a still group of men and women dressed in risky old-fashioned clothing, Madonna's two-tracked voice-over is playing.
"Democracy doesn't seem to exist anymore. I know what you're thinking...history is repeating itself. Don't you see a pattern here? We live in a very scary time," she says. "I used to think I had thick skin, but right now it feels like I have sensational desires to be start a revolution...fascist dictators you better be prepared to fight, you better be prepared to die."
Near the end, right before the camera cuts to a shot of the 54-year-old sitting on a stool with a mask on, she adds, "I feel like people are becoming more and more afraid of people who are different. People are becoming more and more intolerant."
This was the second teaser trailer released for the "Secret Project" in which Madonna collaborated with photographer Steven Klein. The first one was released on June 21 and instead of playing any words, it depicted a jail scene of a man being beaten by police, Madonna shooting a gun at someone and contemporary dancing.
The MDNA singer has also been teasing the project by posting pictures on Instagram. After receiving backlash, she posted a picture with a note she had written.
"I am an artist and a freedom fighter! I have always fought for Freedom of Expression and Human Rights in General. If you don't like what I have to say or Do then simply stop following me on Instagram! It's so simple," she wrote.
No other details have been revealed yet when the fulll-length video will premiere. However, other famous artists including Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Cher will reportedly appear on the project.
