Queen Elizabeth II's Real Reason Why She Wants Camilla Become Queen Consort Shocks Royal Fans
Queen Elizabeth II's decision to make Camilla a Queen Consort in the future has a deeper reason.
Queen Elizabeth II left royal fans shocked when she announced over the weekend that she wants Prince Charles' wife to take the Queen Consort title. This came as a shock since it had been believed that the Duchess of Cornwall would use Princess Consort instead as a sign of respect to Princess Diana.
But things seemingly changed as the 95-year-old monarch already proclaimed Camilla's future title.
"When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service," she said, as quoted by CBS News.
As for the reason why she wants Camilla to have the title, she noted that her late husband became her partner, who made unselfish sacrifices as a consort. Her Majesty believes that Camilla will be able to do the same for Prince Charles.
This resonated with what a royal insider told PEOPLE recently, saying that the duchess is a huge support for the future king.
"There will always be some backlash but you can't please everybody all the time," the royal insider added. "There will be people from certain constituencies who might complain."
Since Prince Charles is prone to "Eeyore moments," his wife can reportedly support him no matter what.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall Deserving to Be Called Queen Consort
Despite the past issues involving Prince Charles, Princess Diana, and Camilla, people who already worked with the Duchess of Cornwall noted that she has already done exemplary actions as the wife of the future king.
Royal supporters added that Camilla had been a huge supporter of women's rights and those organizations and groups that are trying to eradicate domestic abuse.

Meanwhile, royal historian Robert Lacey also told the same news outlet that Her Majesty knows how difficult it is to be a consort - but she believes Camilla can do it.
"As she thought about her father George VI, she would have also thought about her mother and the importance she played as a partner to him. And then, of course, with the passing of Prince Philip, she is considering the sacrifices and difficulties of being a consort," he went on.
