Kanye West Responds to Kim Kardashian's Interview Claiming That She Divorced Him So She Can Finally Make Herself Happy
Shortly after Kim Kardashian's interview with Vogue, where she explains that she divorced ex-husband Kanye West to choose her own happiness, the rapper has issued a plea over social media in response. In the Instagram post, West uploaded photos of Kim with their four children, and captioned it, "GOD PLEASE BRING OUR FAMILY BACK TOGETHER."
In her Vogue interview, Kardashian mentions how turning 40 had caused her to rethink her priorities and how she would like to be "Team Me." Kardashian says, "For so long, I did what made other people happy. I think in the last two years I decided I'm going to make myself happy - and that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I've chosen myself. I think it's okay to choose you"
However, while Kardashian seems to have moved on to a new phase of her life and is now offially dating "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davdison, West seems decidedly stuck in the past. The rapper's Instagram post follows West's claims that the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star has been keeping him away from their children, along with other verbal attacks. The two have been publicly trading accusations since their breakup, despite West supposedly moving on with new girlfriend Julia Fox.
While Kim and Kanye's marriage was an iconic moment of pop culture history, we can't help but feel that all this public sparring is messy and doing nothing to better their situation. It's wonderful to see Kardashian prioritizing her own peace and happiness, so we can only hope that West can eventually find it within himself to do so, too.
