Lexi Reed Faces Life-and-Death Situation Amid Mysterious Illness; Suffers 312 lbs Weight Loss
Lexi Reed is now making her 1.2 million followers worry as her health suddenly deteriorated after losing weight and committing to a healthier lifestyle.
Reed's fans learned about the influencer's heartbreaking state after her husband, Danny, shared the news on her Instagram page. He revealed that the lifestyle influencer kept getting sick a few weeks ago. She also reportedly could not consume any food.
"She then started acting differently, so I took her to the hospital where they admitted her into ICU, placed on a medically induced [coma], on a ventilator, and [told] me that her organs started failing," he said.
The doctors also told him that Reed could have died if he had waited for another day before taking her to the hospital.
Danny then disclosed further updates regarding her health status, saying that Reed currently undergoes dialysis. Although she is working on recovery, she reportedly still cannot walk.
Following the latest update, fans showered her with get well soon messages. Others also suggested having a GoFundMe page to support her in her medical fees.
One said, "Let's get the donations going, y'all!! I've been following for 4.5 years and would love to support her and the family."
"This is why health care should be a right, something we all have access to. Everyone has the right to access life saving measures. Healthcare for all today!" another added. "Sending you all energies. I'm so sorry for this setback. It seems terribly difficult, but I'm glad you have each other and family."
Lexi Reed's Weight Loss Journey
Reed started her weight loss journey in 2016 as part of her New Year's resolution.
Per the diet diarist, she weighed over 300 pounds when she met Danny. Despite that, her husband reportedly accepted her for who she was and never asked her to change.

But she realized she wanted to live longer with him and be able to have kids in the future. After her weight loss, she underwent skin removal surgery in 2018. It caused her to remove excess flesh that weighed around 7 pounds.
"I'm in a lot of pain. I've never had surgery before and I've cried daily multiple times," she wrote at that time. "I am determined to heal and give recovery my all."
