Prince Charles' charity "The Prince's Foundation" is being investigated.

The Metropolitan Police stated on Wednesday that officers had opened an investigation into the charity following suspicions of cash-for-honors.

According to CNN, the charity has been the subject of controversy since the claims were made public in early 2022, when they accused the organization of accepting money in exchange for official honors and even British citizenship for a Saudi Arabian businessman.

According to the statement released by London police, "The decision is the result of an evaluation of a letter dated September 20, 2021. This was in response to media reports that stated offers of assistance were made to secure honors and citizenship for a Saudi national."

Its investigators are currently in contact with The Prince's Foundation on the findings of an independent investigation into their fundraising techniques.

Fortunately, the Prince of Wales Foundation was able to produce a number of pertinent documents.

The investigators evaluated the documents and the information they, and an assessment is made to determine whether or not an inquiry will take place - and now, it will be investigated.

However, as of this writing, no arrests or interviews with potential suspects have taken place.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles' office issued a statement in reaction to the probe, claiming that he is unaware of the allegations leveled against him and his foundation.

The statement also appears to be similar to the initial one he issued last year, when the claims were already making headlines.

Following the claims, Michael Fawcett, Chief Executive of The Prince's Foundation, temporarily resigned from his job.

According to People magazine, the organization said in a statement, "While the Trustee's inquiry is ongoing, Michael Fawcett has offered to step aside temporarily as Chief Executive of The Prince's Foundation. This offer has been accepted by the Prince's Foundation."

"Michael fully supports the ongoing investigation and has confirmed that he will help in any manner he can."

Michael Fawcett was previously Prince Charles' valet and has served as CEO since 2018.

However, this was not the charity's first brush with controversy.

After the claims were made public, The Prince's Foundation was rocked with another crisis, which forced the foundation's chairman to resign after allegations of a six-figure offer from a Russian donor.

They allegedly collected more than $100,000 from the businessman before their ethics committee rejected the reported amount.
