Lea Michele First PHOTO Since Cory Monteith Death; 'Glee' Actress Wears 'Cory' Necklace
Lea Michele was spotted in public for the first time on July 28 since the death of her boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith.
The 26-year-old actress was photographed in the passenger seat of a friend's car in Los Angeles, wearing dark sunglasses and a necklace dedicated to Montieth.
The silver chain spelled "Cory." See photo here:
On Sunday, Michele also spoke out for the first time via her Twitter account, thanking fans for their support.
"Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support," she tweeted. "Cory will forever be in my heart.'
The star also posted a sweet picture of herself and the actor from her private collection alongside her tweet, which showed the couple on the beach, as they smile at the camera in front of an ocean.
Enstars reported earlier that Monteith was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific hotel in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia on July 13. He had checked in the hotel a week before on July 6 and was scheduled to check on the 13th. When he didn't check out, hotel staff became concerned and went to his room to check on him. They found him dead.
It was later confirmed that he died from a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol. He was only 31.
His body was cremated after a private viewing with his family and Michele.
Sources said that Michele was deeply saddened and shocked by the news.
"Lea completely lost her mind," a close friend told Us Weekly. "She went crazy, screaming and crying until 3 a.m."
"Lea has been inconsolable and feels like she's been hit by a truck," the friend said. "She didn't know he'd started using again."
Monteith and Cory had been dating for more than a year and was said to be madly in love.
"He is the best person I know, he has made my life so incredible, and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker," she told Marie Claire Mexico before Monteith's death.
