The family of Ghislaine Maxwell has expressed their fear for her safety following the death of Jean-Luc Brunel, the French model agent who reportedly supplied more than a thousand women and girls for Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with.

He was found hanged in his cell in La Santé in the south of Paris in the early hours of Saturday morning by prosecutors, even though he was allegedly not on a suicide watch.

After meeting purportedly through Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's machinations, Prince Andrew, 62, agreed to settle Virginia Roberts' lawsuit accusing him of sex assault. Andrew, who has always maintained his innocence, did not admit any wrongdoing in the deal.

More than 1,000 women and girls were procured for Epstein to sleep with by Brunel, who was awaiting prosecution in France for the rape of children, according to Roberts.

It was a 'shocking' development that Brunel had died, and the family of Maxwell, who is being imprisoned at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, expressed their concern for her safety following the news.

In a statement from London, Ian Maxwell, Maxwell's brother said, "Another death by hanging in a high-security prison. My reaction is one of total shock and bewilderment."

As a result, Mr. Maxwell alleged, his sister was "deemed a suicide risk," and that she is awakened every 15 minutes at night. Maxwell is not suicidal, he said, calling it a "gross violation of prisoner rights and human rights."

When Maxwell was found guilty of trafficking children in December of last year, federal authorities were able to bring her to prison for her role in assisting Epstein enticing teenage girls before sexually assaulting them.

Four of her attorneys have petitioned for a new trial on the grounds that the jury's questioning concerning Maxwell's sexual assault violated her right to a fair trial, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

It is believed that Brunel was alone when he died, and no cameras were there to document his dying moments. This is according to an investigator at La Santé, one of France's toughest prisons.

In the early hours of the morning, a night patrol discovered his lifeless body. Early information indicates that the victim took his own life. A court inquiry has been begun.
