Britney Spears is Back: Pop Icon Lands Another Multi-Million Dollar Deal Apart From Possible New Music Release?
Latest news had it that Britney Spears is releasing new music soon. Turns out it's not only a new album that fans should anticipate. There's a possibility that she's releasing a tell-all book too, after allegedly landing a multi-million dollar deal to write a memoir.
The pop artist will pen a biography recounting the familial drama that transpired during her conservatorship after a purported bidding war between different publishers.
Now Britney Spears may add novelist to her list of accomplishments, according to reports. According to Page Six, the 40-year-old pop diva has agreed to publish a tell-all memoir worth $15 million. In the end, Simon & Schuster won the rights to Britney's life story, which includes her career, her relationships, and the familial turmoil that erupted during her conservatorship.
According to a source at the publication, the memoir is "one of the largest of all time, after the Obamas." Barack and Michelle Obama signed a deal in 2017 for $60 million to sell the rights to their books.
After Britney's conservatorship ended in November, she has been embroiled in allegations and family feuds, so it's safe to assume she's trying to give her side of the story.
Her own sister, Jamie Lynn Spears is the firs to go on this route in dropping some family drama. The "Sweet Magnolias" star released an explosive memoir lately entitled, "Things I Should Have Said," which further caused more beef between her and Britney, despite the intention to do the opposite. Britney even called her out directly, naming her on a social media post.
Britney wrote on Instagram at the time, "Congrats best seller.....The nerve of you to sell a book now and talk s-t but your f-king lying.....I wish you would take a lie detector test so all these masses of people see you're lying through your teeth about me !!!! I wish the almighty, Lord would could come down and show this whole world that you're lying and making money off of me !!!! You are scum, Jamie Lynn."
Britney Spears and her father, Jamie Spears, are anticipated to feature prominently in the book's yet-to-be-named pages. During Jamie's 13-year tenure as conservator, which ended in August when he stepped down, the worldwide superstar filed a lawsuit accusing him of stealing "at least $6 million" from her. According to the documents, Jamie pocketed approximately $6 million, with the remaining $30 million going to attorneys and court costs.
As of now, there is no set release date for Britney's biography, but she has hinted once that given the opportunity, she'll certainly have a lot to say about what she went through. ""I'll just be honest and say I've waited so long to be free from the situation I'm in ... Lord have mercy on my family's souls if I ever do an interview!!!," she once said.
