Miss Alabama Zoe Sozo Bethel's cause and manner of death have been disclosed, and they are both gut-wrenching and horrible. Fans cannot help but sympathize and yet feel a bit woozy at the details.

The 27-year-old beauty queen died on Feb. 18 from injuries sustained in an unidentified "accident" on Feb. 10, according to her family.

She had "serious brain/brainstem injury" and was in a coma for more than a week.

The Daily Mail then reported on Tuesday that officials investigating Bethel's death suspect she attempted suicide by jumping from a high-rise building in Miami, Florida.

At the moment, it is unknown if she resided in the seven-story residential building on the seaside Edgewater area.

Zoe's family took over her Instagram feed shortly after the tragedy to inform her fans.

After briefly outlining the nature of her injuries, not really stating the cause of death her loved ones added, "Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired & that she may not have much time left."

"We are praying for God's will to be done, regardless of what that may look like," the statement went on. "This has been an abrupt & very traumatizing situation for our family, & we can imagine how much of a shock this will also be to everyone who knows & cares for her. We ask that everyone please respect the privacy of our family during this time. Keep Zoe & the family in your prayers!," the statement ended.

Days later, on the 18th, they confirmed that Zoe Sozo Bethel has died, "passing from this life into the next."

Rather than dwell on the circumstances surrounding her death, the Bethel family opted to focus on what she did throughout her 27 years.

"Zoe touched the hearts of many people and was actively affiliated with several organizations and groups namely, she was the current Miss Alabama (for America Strong), a political commentator for RSBN, a Brand Ambassador for Turning Point USA, and Liberty University's Falkirk Center," they wrote at the time. "She was also a spokeswoman for Students for Life and affiliated with Project Veritas."

Bethel was a staunch Republican who fought for pro-life principles. She is survived by a little daughter.

Zoe's most recent Instagram post was three weeks ago. Its caption reads, "Act, and let everyone else react."

Regrettably, she is the second pageant queen to take her own life this year.

Cheslie Kryst, a former Miss USA, committed suicide herself this month by leaping from her 60-story New York City apartment building.

Her final Instagram post was also pretty unsettling, considering it was published just hours before she committed suicide. "May this day bring you rest and peace."
