An Ohio prosecutor said he will present evidence at the Thursday sentencing of convicted kidnapper and rapist Ariel Castro that will prove he is a manipulator.

Cuyahoga County prosecutor Tim McGinty said experts at Castro's sentencing will explain to the court how the 53-year-old former bus driver manipulated three women to keep them captive for nearly a decade, Fox News reported.

Castro pleaded guilty on July 26 to 937 counts of kidnapping, rape, assault and other charges, in a plea deal that sends him to prison for life without parole plus 1,000 years. He abducted the three women - Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight - in Cleveland between 2002 and 2004 when they were 14 to 20 years old. They escaped his home on May 6 and Castro was arrested that day.

In court on July 26, McGinty reportedly described Castro as a manipulator who would not leave prison "except nailed in a box or in an ash can." Yahoo noted that the attorney is expected to call at least one expert to testify about the three women's mental state during their captivity, said Joe Frolik, a spokesperson for McGinty. The expert will discuss the Stockholm syndrome, a mental condition common in captor-prisoner situations victims in which the victims begin to feel sympathy and appreciation for their captor.

Castro will have a chance to speak on his behalf on Thursday and address the courtroom. Among those who could address Cuyahoga Common Pleas Judge Michael Russo at the sentencing are the three victims or their appointed representatives. They could also choose to make written or video-recorded statements, or not appear in court at all.

Judge Russo issued a statement saying that Thursday's sentencing hearing will begin at 9 a.m. ET and conclude by 1 p.m

The convicted kidnapper's son, Anthony Castro, said Monday his father belongs in prison for the rest of his life for the crime he committed. He told Today co-host Savannah Guthrie that life behind bars is "the best possible sentence" for his father and "behind bars is where he belongs for the rest of his life."

"I have no trust in him. I can't see myself going to visit him and giving him the opportunity to face me and lie to me again," Anthony added. "I have nothing to say to him."
