Farrah Forke Shocking Health Condition Before Death: 'Wings' Actress Was 54
Farrah Forke, an actress, popularly known for her role as the helicopter pilot Alex Lambert in the hit NBC sitcom "Wings," has tragically passed away at the age of 54.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, as confirmed by her family, the actress died last Friday at her home in Texas.
Prior to her death, Forke suffered from cancer over the past few years.
Her family issued a statement, writing, "Farrah was fierce, tender, loyal, loving, strong, funny, smart, protective, kind, passionate and utterly irreplaceable."
They added, "She brought a light so great to the world that even after her passing, the light remains."
Forke was born in Corpus Cristi, Texas, on January 12, 1968. The actress studied in an all-girls private school in Dallas called Hockaday School.
Her first shot at acting began when she starred in a local production of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," She later sought more opportunities upon moving to New York to study drama at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Her first movie was in 1991 when she starred in "Brain Twisters." Following this, her career took off, which led her to star in numerous Hollywood films like "Heat," "Ground Control," "Disclosure," and more.
The actress was also prominent in the field of telefilms as she starred in "Nurses on the Line," "Journey to the Center of the Earth," and "Abandoned and Deceived."
Some of her most iconic roles are helicopter pilot Alex Lambert on "Wings" and attorney Mayson Drake on "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman's" second season.
In 1996, Forke reunited with her "Wings" co-star Thomas Haden Church for an episode of "Ned & Stacey."
Later in life, the actress ultimately retired to focus on her family life as she had twin boys named Chuck and Wit.
According to IMBd, some of her credits were "Ground Control" as Laura Franklin, "It Was What It Is" as Teresa," "Batman and Beyond," "Abandoned and Deceived" as Sarah, and her final role Big Barda in "Justice League Unlimited.
Farrah Forke was survived by her sons, her mother Beverly, stepfather Chuck, sisters Paige, Jennifer, Maggie, and best friend, Mike Peterson.
Her family and friends held a private service. Instead of flowers, the actress's family requests her fans to donate to charity or the American Cancer Society.
