The hunt for the actress to play Madonna in the upcoming Madonna bio-pic is an audition process of Herculean proportions.

The auditions for this highly-anticipated film have been going on for months. According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, the second round of auditions have been affectionately nicknamed, "Madonna Bootcamp", and one creative on the inside has describe the process as, "grueling." Choreography sessions with Madonnna's choreographer and Madonna herself can sometimes take up to eleven hours, testing all of the actresses to see if they have what it takes to play the part of the icon.

Some who are still competing contenders for the role include Julia Garner, from Inventing Anna, Florence Pugh, from a variety of projects, Alexa Demie, Odessa Young, Emma Laird, Bebe Rexha, and Sky Ferreira. This is not to mention the hundreds of multi-talented hopefuls that did not make it past round one.

With such a star studded roaster, the role is anyone's game. The goal with this casting is nothing short of perfection. An insider in this strenuous process said, "You have to be able to do everything." That is no surprise given the superstar ability to do everything that made the subject of the film famous.

This quest for perfection is largely due to the fact that Madonna herself is a director and writer on the process. While many stars sit back and allow the film to be made, Madonna feels adamantly about having a hands-on approach in this bio-pic process. "The reason I'm doing it is because a bunch of people have tried to write movies about me, but they're always men." Maybe the next part of the audition process will be making all of the candidates write and direct their own bio-pic. Who knows?

We can't wait to see which talented hopeful gets the chance to take on this role of a lifetime.
